Producer Profile

A Family Tradition Since 1870

Bodega Ruiz Torres, located in Cáceres, Extremadura, has been crafting exceptional wines since 1870. This family-owned winery has built a reputation as one of Spain’s finest, with its wines enjoyed in over 35 countries. Now in its fourth generation, the winery focuses on meticulous wine production and aging, bottle reflects the family’s dedication to quality. Bodega Ruiz Torres is known for its young wines, including Crianza and Reserva, as well as cavas, sparkling wines, frizzantes, and vermouth.

The Path from Vines to Wines

Situated in a stunning area of Caamero, just 10 kilometres from the Royal Monastery of Guadalupe, the winery features a grape harvest room, laboratories, and a production area equipped with stainless steel tanks. The aging cellar, crafted from French and American oak, and the bottling and storage facilities contribute to the winery’s commitment to quality. The vineyard thrives on slate soil at an elevation of 800 meters, where a unique microclimate allows grapes to ripen slowly, enhancing their quality. This careful approach has earned Bodega Ruiz Torres numerous awards in both national and international wine competitions.

Viticulture

After more than 150 years caring for their vines, the Ruiz Torres family believe the fruit they produce are like children you see being born. For the family, these vines are the most important legacy of the generations before then – parents and grandparents. They instilled a way of life and doing things, which have led Bodegas Ruiz Torres to where they are right now.

The Tempranillo grapes are sourced from estate vineyards grown in Sierra de Guadalupe, Cáceres, Extremadura, Spain.
