Emporium, Primitivo di Manduria DOC, 2023, Puglia, Italy

Producer Profile

A true expression of the Heel of Italy

Emporium wines tell a story about Puglia and its authenticity, from the passion for the land to the values of conviviality and sharing. These strong red wines are crafted from Primitivo (zinfandel) and Negroamaro grapes and pair well with traditional food of the region of Puglia.

Viticulture

The drying of grapes is a very ancient practice that precedes the Greek civilization and was used to preserve both the fruit and, later also the wine for a longer period. This was made possible because of a higher sugar concentration.

During harvest, the best grapes are selected to remain on the vine for an extended period, until each grape is dried out concentrating its sugars.

Winemaking

The wine is crafted from 100% Primitivo grapes and represents an authentic, high-quality expression of the region, often characterized by its rich fruit flavours and hints of spice.

Winemaking for Emporioum 2023 Primitivo di Manduria focuses on producing a rich, high-alcohol red with intense dark fruit, using, on average, 10-12 days of temperature-controlled fermentation and 6-8 months of oak aging.
