Emporium, Prosecco, Glera, NV, Veneto, Italy

Producer Profile

Prosecco is produced exclusively in the neighbouring regions of Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia in north-eastern Italy.

Viticulture

The Prosecco region enjoys a mild microclimate with generous rainfall and sunshine.

The soil is a mixture of limestone, clay, marl and marine sandstone, making it ideal for cultivating the Glera grape.

Winemaking

Emporium Prosecco is produced in Veneto, Italy, using 100% Glera grapes fermented via the Charmat method. This process involves a secondary fermentation in large, pressurized stainless steel tanks to create a light, aromatic, and fruity sparkling wine with a persistent perlage. The wine is typically styled as Extra Dry (10.5% ABV).

Tasting Note

An elegant Prosecco, the pure expression of Italian bubbles.  Straw yellow in colour with a persistent perlage which anticipate the aromas and pleasant taste profile with notes of white fruit.  Well balanced with a mineral finish.

Goes well with

Prosecco pairs best with salty, fried, or fatty foods, as its high acidity and bubbles cleanse the palate. Classic pairings include cured meats (prosciutto, salami), fresh cheeses (burrata, mozzarella), seafood (sushi, fish and chips), fried appetizers (arancini), nutty dishes, and spicy Asian cuisine.

Cellaring

Best drunk in its youth.
