The Muenzenrieder wine-growing estate lies in the neusiedlersee/seewinkel national park. Through natural cultivation methods, rigorous harvest scrutiny, and controlled cellar operations, winegrowers Johann and Johannes Muenzenrieder produce potent wines marked with regional characteristics and tremendous intensity.

Enjoying the special microclimate of the sun drenched seewinkel aera, fruitful, fresh white and dense, robust red wines flourish. the adjoining lake neusiedl and numerous small marshes of the area serve as heat reservoirs, providing ample amounts of air moisture. Consequently, the ideal conditions for the cultivation of the coveted “noble rot” (botrytis) are set, allowing for the vinification of high-class sweet wines.


Sourced from various vineyards in Apetlon.  Vineyard made up of predominately black earth.


Fermentation in stainless steel, followed by 8 days maceration and malolactic fermentation. 9 months in tank prior to bottling.

Tasting Note

A fruity, harmonious Zweigelt with scents of cherries. Highlighted by dark berry fruit and subtle hints of herbs. The focus is clearly on the fruit and not the wood. This very typical, easy-drinking Zweigelt impresses with its dark ruby ​​red colour, juicy heart cherries and fine notes of cocoa on the nose, delicate on the palate, great extract sweetness, pleasant soft tannin, is well structured and inspires with how easy it is to drink.

Try pairing it with fish cooked in wine or tomato-based sauce to really bring out the flavours.
