Quinta de Amares has a legacy of history, represented by the Monastery “Mosteiro de Santo André de Rendufe” which was one of the most important national Benedictine Monasteries, developing continuously until the fifteenth century and the aqueduct (17th Century) : a very special and remarkable heritage.
With an extension of vineyards with approximately 50 hectares, is located in the Portuguese municipality of Amares, in the heart of the Demarcated Region of Vinhos Verdes, in the small village of Sto. André de Rendufe, land of deep and historical religious traditions.
Quita D’Amares production of Vinho Verdes, which have been awarded several times in national and international wine competitions, are produced from selected grapes varieties, and will undoubtedly surprise the customer with their unique characteristics.
Amongst the dunes of the Atlantic, the region best known for its excellent Vinho Verde, there are winds that influence the freshness and minerality of the grapes cultivated in this region. Giving origin to light, aromatic and persistent wines.
Vinhos Verdes region, sub-Region of Cavado – an area of 50ha of vines. Sandy loam, granitic origin with a north-south aspect.
Quinta D’Amares Clastrum Single Vineyard- Limited Edition and the result of the care and monitoring of a vineyard very near to the private house of the Loureiro family, the “Vinha Mira Mar”, which gave rise to just 3,300 bottles of wine.
Fermentation occurred in contact with fine lees for 12 months (battonage) in a stainless steel tank, enhancing your mouth volume. Bottling took place in October, subsequently remaining in the cellars for around 4 months, before release, giving rise to an elegant, mineral wine, with balanced acidity.
Straw Yellow in colour. Complex with aromas of yellow fruit. Great volume in the mouth, vibrant acidity, complex fruit and dry and persistent finish.
Delicious as an aperitif, and pairs nicely with ceviche, oysters, lobster salad, crab cakes, grilled fish, light pasta with vegetables, and Vietnamese dishes.
Great gastronomic potential and good aging ability.
