Ribas del Cúa is a family winery that began its journey in the late 1980s. With great effort, more than 250 small farms were brought together on the banks of the Cúa River, in the middle of the Camino de Santiago as it passes through Cacabelos, until grouping 60 hectares into a single plot: Finca Robledo.
The women of the family have taken the reins of management, giving a more modern and current image, without departing from the philosophy that gave rise to the company: tradition and modernity.
With the collaboration of Ana Martín, the new family generation, always at the foot of the vineyard, continues to bet on the care of the vine and the land, on the contemporary and the traditional as the basis of our success.
Finca Robledo extends around the winery, forming an extension of 60 hectares, where the Mencía variety, a native grape from the El Bierzo region, occupies most of the plantation area. Other varieties such as Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot complete a unique terrain that offers the best conditions for growing quality grapes.
Its favourable northern orientation lengthens the vine’s vegetative cycle in a relatively warm area, which allows us to obtain more aromatic and fresh wines, endowed with a longer life in the bottle.
Their vineyard sits on a very deep alluvial soil, with abundant boulders that are very suitable to produce exquisite wines.
Harvesting begins when the grapes are at the precise moment of maturity. In this way, thanks to the exhaustive control to which it is subjected throughout the vegetative period, to the selection in the field and the speed with which the harvest is carried out, it allows them to obtain a harvest with the optimum quality and degree.
Rosita Rosado is produced from selected Mencía grapes grown in estate-owned vineyards with controlled yields.
Grapes are harvested at night to ensure optimal freshness and temperature conditions upon arrival at the winery. After gentle pressing, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures (15-18°C), allowing for maximum preservation of primary aromas and a refined aromatic profile.
Pale salmon colour, bright and clean. On the nose, delicate and fresh, with medium intensity aromas of red berries (wild strawberry) and subtle floral notes.
On the palate, this rosado is fresh and smooth, with balanced acidity and a pleasant, easy drinking finish.
Ideal with salads, light pasta dishes, grilled vegetables and white meats. Pairs well with seafood, tapas and Mediterranean cuisine.
Made for drinking in its youth.
