Tenuta di Tavignano, Pecorino, 2025, Offida DOCG, Marche, Italy

Producer Profile

Since the 1990s, Stefano Aymerich di Laconi and his wife Beatrice Lucangeli devoted themselves entirely to expressing the noblest identity of Verdicchio. Replanting vineyards and focusing on the historic Classico district, they helped restore prestige to one of Italy’s most important white wine denominations, originally established in 1968.

Over the years, Tavignano has become synonymous with precision, longevity and terroir-driven Verdicchio. The estate has received numerous Tre Bicchieri awards, culminating in the highest recognition from Gambero Rosso — White Wine of the Year 2017 for Misco 2015, a wine widely considered a reference expression of the appellation.

Misco Riserva 2019 was awarded a Gold Medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards, and recent vintages have consistently scored above 90 points from leading international critics including James SucklingRobert Parker (The Wine Advocate) and Antonio Galloni (Vinous), reinforcing Tavignano’s position within the fine wine segment.

Today, the estate is led by Ondine de la Feld, Stefano’s niece, who continues this legacy with a clear vision rooted in sustainability and territorial identity. Under her leadership, Tavignano completed its organic conversion in 2018 and has further refined its parcel selection and vineyard work across 30 hectares of Verdicchio and native varieties.

Viticulture

The only variety currently being sourced from outside the estate. From Offida DOCG Pecorino, Piceno zone. Just 1 hectare under vine, trained Guyot and yielding 9 ton per hectare.

Hand picked into small boxes.

Winemaking

Fermentation at controlled temperature in stainless steel, with a minimum of 6 months in stainless steel tanks and minimum 2 months in the bottle prior to release.

Tasting Note

Brilliant and shining on site. A bouquet of intense floral notes and ripe fruit fragrance. On the palate it shows good acidity, very juicy tasting and aromatic notes.

Goes well with

Fresh seafood and white meat dishes.

Cellaring

Tenuta di Tavignano Pecorino (Offida DOCG) is a structured, high-acid white wine with good aging potential, generally suited for cellaring up to 2028 or slightly beyond. While aromatic when young, this wine develops complex, deeper, and more mineral-driven notes as it matures.
